The Thankful Story

Think Thankful, all stemed from a Purely selfish start! I was a mom pregnant with my third baby and thankful for my amazing family and life. I longed to connect with people who loved to be thankful too. I have witnessed in my own life how the pure power of appreciation can move mountains. Being dedicated to searching out things to be thankful for was such an important daily practice for me that it was becoming a way of life. I found that when I focused my thoughts on a subject if I was in a Thankful frame of mind, I always felt so much better, even if my circumstances hadn't changed at all. I knew Thinking Thankfully was improving my life and I wanted to share that but also be reminded as often as possible.

I also, I will freely admit it, am nosy. I wanted to peek into others' lives and see what they were Thankful for. I wanted to hear how people were grateful for their lives, for the ups and downs of their past, present and future. When someone would begin to describe what they were thankful for, my own mind would race – “me too, I'm thankful for that” and then before I knew it, I would be off on a tangent appreciating all sorts of things I hadn't thought of before. So I think that sharing our unique thankful viewpoint with others just expands each of our lives in so many great ways. I really wanted an online venue to share thanks. For a long time the task seemed too big to tackle, then Facebook gave me the perfect opportunity to create an interactive Think Thankful space online. It's a growing community and I love visiting the fan page to get my nosiness quotient filled for the day.

In addition, I wanted reminders to Think Thankful. I am not perfect. Even though my intentions are to be appreciative and grateful in every moment, I don't always live up to my own expectations. I wanted as many reminders to Think Thankful as possible. I have some that money can't buy: my children's smiles, a goodbye kiss from my husband, a stunning sunset. But there are days when I need more than that. That's why I put the beautiful Think Thankful logo on little reminders through Cafepress. I can plaster my fridge with Think Thankful magnets, wear my Think Thankful T-shirt and put my Think Thankful sticker on my car. They will catch my eye and remind me to stay on that Think Thankful train. Those little reminders are just what I need and I hope that you not only like them, but that you actually find them useful too.
